April 19 – 25th marks National Library Week and to celebrate we want to remind you of the resources available to our students. Although we miss having you gather in the library, classrooms, and student lounges to study, WCUI still has resources accessible to you online to help you further your education.
The WCUI LibGuides is an online library with access to thousands of books, reviews, peer-reviewed articles, journals and so much more. This online resource has been around for our students for years and provides you an opportunity to find everything you need to further your studies, learn a new topic, research, or assist you on a final project. LibGuides is continuously updated to make sure you have access to the latest information for your ultrasound, MRI, and nursing education.

Smith Library Collection
The Smith Library Collection is now available on our LibGuides online library! By clicking on the picture of WCUI co-founder Dr. Neville Smith, you will now be able to access the full collection from all three WCUI campuses. All the resources you would normally find in your physical on-campus Smith Library have been digitized to reserve and pick up. This includes registry reviews (SPI, ARDMS, CCI, ARRT, and NCLEX), calculators, study cards/flashcards, books, and more!
If you can’t find what you need on the WCUI LibGuides, search for it in the Smith Library Collection and reach out to one of the library staff members to check it out for you. They can then make arrangements for you to pick it up. We will still be following library best practices, and during this time we will allow a two-week checkout time, with three automatic renewals. An exception is the reference materials, that will need to remain in the library, which will be monitored to ensure social distancing.

LA Public Library E-Card
In addition, Los Angeles students and faculty, the LA Public Library is offering an e-card to Los Angeles residents. The E-card will provide immediate access to their digital collections without first having to visit a Los Angeles Public Library location. So sign up for free access to their digital resources including the Gale Nursing and Allied Health database (among others) if you haven’t done so already!
