Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography

WCUI’s Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography program prepares students to use non-invasive techniques for essential diagnostics as sonographers. Sonographers serve as the doctor’s eyes, helping diagnose life-threatening medical conditions. A bachelor’s degree in diagnostic medical sonography provides a more in-depth journey into vascular, obstetric and gynecologic, abdominal, and musculoskeletal sonography along with other protocols for diagnostic medical sonographers. Musculoskeletal ultrasound is a quickly developing field in sonography that needs more ultrasound technicians with musculoskeletal knowledge. These advanced courses will give students a stronger education and set them apart from other sonographers once they enter the field.

Graduates from the bachelor’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program can specialize in a wide range of fields such as obstetrics and gynecology, and abdominal, vascular, breast or musculoskeletal diagnostics. The program can be completed in as few as 36 months, and students become eligible for relevant ARDMS and ARRT registry exams upon graduation.
