During the break week, many of us are adhering to stay at home policies. During these times we want you to know there are still ways to connect to your community and your world! We’ve put together a list of activities and applications you can use to go beyond your home. We’ll keep adding to this list as we find more, so keep checking in.
Netflix Party with Friends
There is a Chrome Extension available to hold a Netflix Party with your friends and family remotely! By using the Chrome Extension it synchronizes video playback and adds a group chat to your favorite shows and movies. This is a great way to host remote watching parties and make sure everyone is watching the same scene because no one likes spoilers.

Tour Museums & Art Galleries Around the World
Google has provided links to full virtual collections of museums around the world, that you may have not had the opportunity to see yet. From the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in Los Angeles, you can look through hundreds of exhibits.

Take a walk around the National Aquarium, watch the Panda Cam at the Atlanta Zoo, or immerse yourself in a Canadian Farm. With the support of technology, you can now take a field trip online. If you’re having trouble finding activities for your kids or younger siblings in the house this is also a great opportunity for them to explore while waiting for schools to reopen.
Zoom Karaoke Party
Sing those feelings out and host a karaoke party through your favorite live streaming platforms like Zoom or Google Hangouts. Set a time and date and invite all your friends to sing your favorite songs virtually! Not into singing? Host a dance party, a happy hour, game night, or even a book club while you practice safe social distancing. This could also apply to study groups when the Spring term starts!
